About tour
Step outside Asmara for a day of hiking through the dramatic landscapes of the Asmara Escarpment. At around 2,100–2,400 metres above sea level, the area combines rocky hillsides, highland grasslands, juniper woodland, small wetlands and spectacular views towards Eritrea’s eastern lowlands.
The escarpment is also recognised as a Key Biodiversity Area, supporting a variety of birdlife and wildlife, including baboons and several highland bird species.
Enjoy a peaceful day in nature, away from the city, with a local guide and time to explore the landscape, take photographs and experience a different side of Eritrea.
