Meet your local guide and begin the day by bicycle through Asmara’s main streets and avenues. Explore some of the city’s most distinctive historic and modernist buildings while learning about the history and character of the capital.
As the city wakes up, we move beyond the landmarks to experience the everyday rhythm of Asmara and its people.
Late Morning — Markets & Local Life
Continue towards Asmara’s markets as they become increasingly lively. Take in the sounds, colours and activity of local commerce while discovering a more everyday side of the city.
Lunch Break
Stop for a relaxed lunch at a local restaurant and take some time to recharge before the afternoon ride.
Afternoon — Villas, Neighbourhoods & Coffee
After lunch, slow the pace and explore some of Asmara’s residential areas and historic villas. Visit local neighbourhoods and take a break at one of the city’s cafés for an afternoon espresso — an essential part of the Asmara experience.
Eritrean History — Tank Graveyard
Continue to the Tank Graveyard, where abandoned military vehicles stand as reminders of Eritrea’s long struggle for independence. Your local guide will share the historical context behind this unique site.
